Noem’s Broken Promises on the National Debt

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. –  In the final week of the election, the South Dakota Democratic Party will be reminding the people of South Dakota about Rep. Kristi Noem’s trail of broken promises throughout her political career. Today, SDDP Executive Director Sam Parkinson released the following statement highlighting Noem’s broken promises on the national debt:

“In addition to her broken promises on campaign finance, Kristi Noem has also made – and broken – promises to bring down the national debt. Since 2010, Kristi Noem has preached a message of not spending money we don’t have or saddling our next generation with our debts. She promised to cut spending and reduce our national debt. Yet, since she has been elected, the national debt has hit an historic high and she has voted in favor of raising the debt limit while in office. Further, The 2018 tax bill Noem supported, and which she likes to promote her role in passing, will add an enormous $1.9 trillion to the national debt – spending more money the United States does not have and adding more financial baggage to our nation’s future. South Dakota voters will remember her broken promises on November 6.”
