South Dakota Democrats know that the future will be built by the young people of the state. Our High School, College, and Young Democrats programs organize and encourage the next generation of South Dakota’s leaders to get involved in their communities and in state politics, to help make sure the future of South Dakota is bright for generations to come.

Each legislative session, high school students from across South Dakota have an opportunity for a firsthand look at the legislative process by serving as pages for the South Dakota Legislature. Pages are appointed to serve in the House of Representatives or the Senate for seven to 10 days during one of the five term periods. The page program is a competitive program, so early application is encouraged. Apply for the 2020 program here.

To apply, you must be sponsored by a sitting legislator or legislator-elect. Not sure who to approach as a sponsor? Find legislators in your district here, or look through our list of Democratic legislators. Your sponsoring legislator may be from any South Dakota district.
