South Dakota Democratic Party Holds Rally for Reproductive Justice

Sioux Falls – On Sunday, September 25th, the South Dakota Democratic Party held a Rally for Reproductive Justice at Fawick Park in Sioux Falls. Over 300 people came out in support of reproductive freedoms for South Dakotans.

“We are grateful to have had such a fantastic turnout for our Rally for Reproductive Justice on Sunday. So many folks showed up to express their anger with South Dakota’s abortion ban, and their support for South Dakotans’ right to choose. Democrats will continue to fight for reproductive freedoms in South Dakota,” said SDDP Executive Director Berk Ehrmantraut.

“Kristi Noem’s complete abortion ban has gone too far. It has been proven at the ballot box twice that it does not reflect the values of most South Dakotans today. No exceptions for rape. No exceptions for incest. No room for families and doctors to make decisions. My friends, this is government mandated pregnancy. Kristi Noem is more concerned about national poll numbers than the needs of South Dakotans. She isn’t pro-life; she’s pro-Kristi,” said Jamie Smith on Sunday.

At the rally attendees heard from Rep. Linda Duba, Rep. Jennifer Keintz, Kristin Hayward, U.S. Senate candidate Brian Bengs, and gubernatorial candidate Jamie Smith. The speakers shared personal stories and emphasized the importance of voting this November.

Early voting started last week and runs until November 7th, and Election Day is November 8th. Find out more voting information by visiting iwillvote.com.
