South Dakota Democratic Party Celebrates Defeat of Amendment C

Sioux Falls, SD – The South Dakota Democratic Party strongly advocated for the defeat of Amendment C. Yesterday, South Dakota voters said ‘NO’ to minority rule.

SDDP Chair Randy Seiler issued the following statement:

“South Dakotans made their voices heard at the ballot box and defeated Amendment C with an overwhelming majority. Thank you to the people of South Dakota for voting to protect our ballot measure process, and thank you to our volunteers who put in the hard work to make phone calls and knock doors. Your dedication to our state is essential for a strong, healthy democracy.

“Republican legislators and the South Dakota Republican Party should take note that the people of South Dakota overwhelmingly saw through their deceitful tactics to take power away from the people. The South Dakota Democratic Party will always choose people over special interests.”
