This Memorial Day, we are humbled by all those past and present who have served our country. We are also strengthened in our resolve to honor that service by ensuring that once home, no veteran is left behind.
A member of America’s Greatest Generation, Senator George McGovern once wrote:
“The quality of any society is measured in good part by the respect and appreciation it demonstrates towards it older citizens who have toiled and sacrificed for us all. […] As patriots we owe our veterans a permanent debt of gratitude and proper care.”
Today, we remember. From all of us here at the South Dakota Democratic Party, we say, “Thank you.”
