Chairman’s Note: Last year, over 500 of you gathered 23,000 signatures to put Governor Daugaard’s taxpayer giveaway program on the 2012 general election ballot. You wanted voters to decide whether our tax dollars should go to big, out of state businesses or schools and hospitals that depend on the general fund. This year, Republicans and special interest lobbyists tried taking our referral off the ballot, denying you a voice on this issue. They are scared. But we’re right. Pitting funds for education against economic development risks losing both. And South Dakota just can’t afford that outcome.
