Chairman’s Note: Washington Republicans just can’t stop pushing solutions in search of fake problems. Congresswoman Kristi Noem’s bill to fight farm dust regulations that don’t exist, for example, has been debunked by the EPA, panned by several South Dakota newspapers, and dropped entirely by her own Republican senate co-sponsor. Yet Republican leadership still intends to take up this bill at a cost to taxpayers $10 million! South Dakota’s farmers have real issues to worry about: the fate of conservation programs, incentives for biofuel production, and agricultural support programs that support thousands of farmers across our state. It’s time that Noem drop her effort to scare farmers and join the conversation concerning these real issues facing rural South Dakotans.”
