South Dakota’s Sliding Math, Reading Scores a ‘Call to Action’

Chairman’s Note: “South Dakota math and reading scores fell as the rest of the country made improvements on the biennial National Assessment of Education Progress (NAEP).” That’s the damning conclusion of the “nation’s report card” on South Dakota schools after years of underfunding and savage budget cuts this year. It should come as no surprise: Gutting school funding does more than risk our kids’ future; it asks us to sacrifice South Dakota’s promise of a better tomorrow for all its citizens.
