Senate GOP Delays Vote on Cruel Health Care Bill

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The South Dakota Democratic Party released the following statement from Chairwoman Ann Tornberg responding to the news that Senate Republicans would delay a vote on their cruel health care bill at least until after the July 4 Recess:

“The people of South Dakota, and every state across the country, made their voices heard and forced John Thune, Mike Rounds, and their colleagues in the Senate Republican caucus to delay a vote on their cruel bill to take health care away from 22 million Americans – including, by one estimate, 63,700 South Dakotans. We encourage the vast majority of South Dakotans who oppose taking health care away from their neighbors in order to give tax cuts to millionaires and billionaires to keep raising their voices through phone calls, emails, letters, and visits to the offices of Senators Thune and Rounds. We must let our senators know this awful bill should be thrown in the dustbin of history once and for all.”
