Chairman’s Note: Senator John Thune rushed to the defense of Mitt Romney last week after protestors interrupted a campaign stop with chants calling Romney part of “the corporate one percent.” ThinkProgress asked Senator Thune if there’s any merit to the idea that Romney – whose net worth exceeds $250 million and whose largest source of contributions has come from Wall Street – belongs to the one percent. Thune’s answer? “No.” So, Senator Thune doesn’t think Romney represents the one percent. Well, Senator Thune must not understand percentages either.
