Chair’s Note: Despite diverse and vocal opposition, the South Dakota House of Representatives passed HB1087, the school sentinel bill, by a 42 – 27 vote. Educators, law enforcement and religious leaders have all voice their concerns with this drastic and radical legislation. HB1087 now moves to the Senate Education committee. Please call your senator and tell them to vote ‘no’ on HB1087 and then head over to www.smartschoolsafety.org and sign the petition to add your name to the growing list of people opposed to the sentinel bill.
