Chairman’s Note: If you’re Governor Daugaard, what do you do when a group of oil and gas companies admit to illegally selling low-grade blends of gasoline that are intentionally mislabeled as higher grade blends? You try to change the law! Instead of lodging charges against oil and gas company executives who flat-out violated state law, Daugaard invited them for a closed-door meeting to discuss how they can change the law at the expense of South Dakota drivers. Low grade fuels damage our cars. The lack of leadership from Daugaard to stand up to oil company executives is damaging the trust South Dakotans have in state government. Keep an eye on this issue, because the whole story is only just beginning to unfold.
