Chair’s Note: After the “school sentinel” bill passed in the House last week, our online petition picked up steam. SmartSchoolSafety.org, aimed at gathering names of South Dakotans who oppose arming teachers and school officials, is nearing 1,000 signatures. Now headed for Senate Affairs committee, the bill inches closer and closer to passing. If you haven’t had a chance yet, sign the petition and then forward it on to your friends. The louder we are the harder it is to ignore us.
