A great piece of journalism, “Jobs Don’t Grow on Trees” illuminates Governor Daugaard’s greatest deceit – that unchecked corporate giveaways, with money taken from funds for our children’s education, will create jobs.
The bottom line is this: cutting funding for education in order to bankroll the governor’s slush fund will neither train our workers for a 21st century economy nor attract new businesses to South Dakota. Our state needed bold solutions to confront the budget crisis Daugaard helped create. Cannibalizing our children’s education to shower millions of dollars on the governor’s friends will not be tolerated.
