Dennis Olson of Huron will be the featured speaker at the December meeting of the Sanborn County Democratic Party, held on Thursday, December 2nd at 7 pm at the home of Chairman John Schmidt, 204 S. Third Avenue, Woonsocket. (Just south of City Hall). Olson is the National Committeeman of the South Dakota Democratic Party, a collector of political memorabilia for over 50 years, and an author.
Dennis will give a presentation on his book: “Against The Wind My Bicycle Ride Across America” about his nine-week bicycle trip across the United States from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic, covering 4,332 miles. There will be a drawing afterward for one of his signed books, and there will also be other door prizes. The monthly meeting will include holiday treats and ample time for discussion. The public is invited to the event regardless of party affiliation, and it will be an excellent opportunity to get out of the house and get together informally with others.
