Guess who is talking common sense on raising the minimum wage? Fox News host Bill O’Reilly. On national cable television Bill O’Reilly publicly supported the effort to raise the minimum wage.
From Salon: “Noting that the overwhelmingly majority of voters (including GOP voters) now support President Obama’s proposal to raise the federal minimum wage from $7.25 per hour to $10.10, O’Reilly Friday shrugged his shoulders and confidently offered his own blessing, stating, ‘…I say fine, up it. I don’t think it’s a big deal.'”
Here in South Dakota, Initiated Measure 18 will raise the minimum wage from $7.25 an hour to $8.50 an hour with annual cost of living adjustments going forward. With folks like Bill O’Reilly now supporting common sense efforts to raise the minimum wage, we’re confident South Dakotans will say YES on Initiated Measure 18 – so long as they know it’s on the ballot.
That’s where you come in. We need to get our message about economic opportunity out before the special interest groups dump thousands of dollars in South Dakota to mislead voters. Will you be a volunteer?
