YELL is a mock state legislature for high school students from across the state. To be a Young Elected Legislative Leader, students must fill out an essay and complete a nominating petition just like candidates for public office must do. Hosted by the South Dakota Democratic Party, YELL gives high school students the opportunity to draft bills, debate with state legislators, and develop the skills they need to be South Dakota’s future leaders.
Rick Weiland is the Democratic nominee for the US Senate seat currently held by Senator Tim Johnson. You can learn more about Rick Weiland at rickweiland.com.
