SIOUX FALLS, SD -- In the absence of South Dakota's Republican Senators and Congressman, Nikki Gronli, the former USDA Rural Development State Director under the Biden Administration, is stepping up to hold town halls across the state.
"AÂ chainsaw has been taken to the pocketbooks and retirement plans of hardworking South Dakotans, all while safety net programs are being dismantled," said Gronli. "The Executive Branch is overstepping its authority and our Members of Congress have been instructed not to hold town halls. South Dakota voices deserve to be heard. That is why I'm holding these town halls across the state that are open to everyone."
"Our congressional representation has chosen to not only be silent, but to ignore the calls, emails and appointments to their offices," said SD Democratic Party Vice Chair Jessica Meyers. "The people of South Dakota demand to be heard and if our elected Republicans won’t show up, the Democrats will."
