Sioux Falls, SD – April 10, 2025 – Julian Beaudion, a community leader, former state trooper, and small business owner, officially announced his candidacy for the United States Senate today. His decision comes in direct response to Senator Mike Rounds’ continued support for efforts that Beaudion calls dangerous and out of touch with South Dakota values—including Rounds’ alignment with President Trump and Elon Musk’s efforts to illegally fire federal workers, gut Social Security and strip away protections for working families, and abolish the Department of Education—all reflecting a dangerous disregard for South Dakota values.

Beaudion’s campaign will focus on practical solutions, bipartisan cooperation, and creating economic opportunities for all South Dakotans.

“This campaign isn’t about me—it’s about securing a future where South Dakota’s working families don’t get left behind,” said Beaudion. “In the Senate, I’ll fight to enforce the checks and balances our Constitution demands and reject the influence of big money and tech monopolies threatening our freedoms—whether it’s harvesting private data or undermining rural businesses. With over 13 years as a South Dakota State Trooper and deep roots in nonprofit leadership, Beaudion understands the everyday challenges families face—whether it’s keeping family farms running, accessing rural healthcare, or making ends meet. His track record of service and problem-solving positions him to unite voters across party lines.

Beaudion, a graduate of the Obama Foundation’s Executive Leadership program and former Presidential nominee for U.S. Marshal, emphasized his commitment to accountable, people-first governance.
