South Dakota sends 25 Delegates, 2 Alternates, and 2 Pages to the Democratic National Convention.
District level Delegates will be elected at Legislative District Caucuses held throughout the State on March 12, 2016.
Delegates elected at the Legislative District Caucuses advance to the March 19th, 2016Statewide Congressional District Caucus held in Pierre where delegates will select the 14 Delegates (7 men, 7 women) to appear on the Primary ballot for each Presidential candidate.
Additional Delegates (4 At-Large Delegates and 2 PLEO [Party Leaders & Elected Officials]) will also be selected at the SDDP State Convention in Sioux Falls on June 24-25, 2016. This Pledge Form must be filed with the SDDP by Noon CST on June 11, 2016 to be selected as a Delegate at the State Convention.
Return this “2016 Delegate Pledge Form” to the South Dakota Democratic Party by March 9th to participate in the legislative district level delegate selection process.
The Statewide Delegate Selection Caucus will be held March 19th, 1:00pm CT at the Pierre Area Senior Citizens Center.
