The Minnehaha County Republican Party moved to a new headquarters this summer. Anyone familiar with Sioux Falls geography knows that anything south of 57th Street is in Lincoln County. And that’s where the Minnehaha County Repubs set up shop: 1601 E. 69th St.
Why? “We got a good deal on rent,” says Rep. Lora Hubbel, the vice chair. “Basically, it was cheap.”
The county party signed a five-year lease, Hubbel says. And yes, it did create controversy. But at the end of the day, party leaders figured saving money was more important than being in Minnehaha County.
